Julia and Hunter met back when they were teenagers summering at the Outer Banks in North Carolina. They knew their love was special and it lasted long distance when Hunter went back home to Southern Virginia and Julia went back to Maryland. Their relationship blossomed and went an even greater distance when Hunter enlisted in the army and served our country overseas.
When Hunter returned home he proposed to his beloved Julia and they began planning their wedding. They were married in a traditional Catholic Ceremony at St. Mary’s of The Mills with a reception following at Woodlawn Manor on Memorial Day Weekend, a perfect time for a solider to marry his bride. Since Hunter was a veteran and their wedding was taking place Memorial Day weekend they wanted to include an homage to the USA without being cheesy.
They achieved this with their red, white, and navy color scheme which was reflected in the bridal party’s attire and décor items. A moment of silence for all those who served was held during dinner and you could feel the love and pride in everyone’s hearts. Other special touches included invitations and custom signs by Lowe Love Calligraphy, votive candles from OBX acted as their favor since that is where their love story started.
Shouts outs to their home states of Virginia and Maryland were also highlighted with the states being featured on their cake plates, corn hole boards, koozies, and wooden custom guest book.
Julia changed into a short dancing dress and traded her veil for hair flowers by Petals by the Shore to go with the classy yet laid back and fun vibe of the evening. Corcoran caterers provided southern favorites for dinner including a macaroni and cheese bar and a dessert buffet of cobblers, pies, and cupcakes. It was a the perfect day for a Soldier to marry his beautiful bride.

It was magical, it was what we all dream of as baby girls. I as the mother of the Groom and our side of the family, was the best wedding we have attended. We had great direction and guidance from Rose Gold Events! They were fun and great from start to end!
